Vocal Pedagogue, Author and Educator
Anne Peckham, chair of the Voice Department at Berklee College of Music is an esteemed vocal pedagogue, author, and educator with a deep commitment to advancing vocal pedagogy in contemporary popular music. She is the author of several influential books, including the Berklee Press/Hal Leonard bestsellers Elements of Vocal Technique for the Contemporary Singer, Vocal Workouts for the Contemporary Singer, and most recently, Vocal Studies for the Contemporary Singer. Her approach involves the practical use of recorded demos and backing tracks intended to promote a holistic, science-based approach to voice training and to help develop consistent practice habits. Healthy, sustainable singing practices are central to all voice teaching, and her books are in use by many professionals, institutions, and private voice studios worldwide. Anne is the author of the popular berkleemusic.com course Voice 101 and she was central to the development of the Berklee Online BA degree in voice performance. The Berklee Voice Department is the largest instrumental department at the College with 90 faculty members and more than 2,000 voice students.
